In my last efforts I ran out in the open to save him as he was almost dead but then I got shot and died. He got wounded and I had to revive him but I couldn't clear the area fast enough. Another one was when my teammate randomly decided to run out of cover, in front of like 20 bad guys to stand there out in the open and shoot at them. One was when one of them stayed standing in the same spot even though I was moving up and progressing to the next level area. There were two moments I can recall where I was disappointed in them. The two soldiers who fight together with you throughout the story usually perform well. There was also a time I had to revive my teammate but they were next to a gun I could pick up and next to cover which made the game confuse which action I want to take. It's annoying if you're playing on hard difficulty where every move matters. I can count at least 5 instances where I got behind cover, pressed the according key but it wouldn't cover until I ran back and over again. Controls for getting behind cover, vaulting and running can be really frustrating. The story feels more real and I guess, gory, than in other shooter games. ![]() I'm not going to go in-depth about it, just wanted to say I, personally, really enjoyed it. Especially in some of the chapters where you're on top of a tower in Dubai, looking down at a modern-day city, buried in the sand.Ĭharacters and the story in general is well written but I'm sure if you have heard of Spec Ops: The Line, you already know that. The environment design is absolutely stunning. I'm not good at these long review essays so I'll keep it short to medium. ![]() I have so many good things to say about the game but it has it's flaws, especially considering I'm playing it now and not when it came out in 2012. I finally played and finished Spec Ops: The Line - a third-person shooter game I have had on my "play when bored" list for a long time.
